HubPages New Ad Program Review

By kksonakiya

You might have got the email from HubPages weekly report on 3rd March 2011, and it reports that HubPages blog has been updated with a very interesting post that all authors around the globe would like to read. It’s about an increase in revenue and let me give you brief and then we’ll discuss about it.

New Ad Program

  • You can now earn via PayPal.
  • New ads will be provided by advertisers of different scale.
  • We will be able to choose the advertising spot for the ad, not precisely, but just like we split our content in two capsules for an Adsense ad to be placed between them, we will be able to adjust our capsules.
  • The payout limit is $50.
  • HubPages will personally invite top Hubbers for the program (they said, it would be done randomly) and by June, all Hubbers around the globe will get an access to the program (read terms and conditions on HubPages Blog).
  • You must have a valid Adsense and PayPal account.
  • For the rest, visit HubPages blog for New Ad Program.

Here Comes the Disscussion Part

Let’s discuss why Hubbers should care about new ad program?

  • The program pays via PayPal, which is the best option than Adsense check and give me few seconds to tell you ‘Why?’
  • Adsense has several options for payment, however, I am talking about Standard Delivery (for checks) to be specific (cause I am not discussing Adsense payment options) and that takes more than a week, it does not even arrive for some reason and then, we have to reissue the check, which (again) takes heck lot of time.
  • What if, HubPages is your only part-time job? And even if it is not and you are doing a part-time job somewhere else, then you do realize the value of every single penny that you earn. That is why, I am sure that if you are relying on Google Adsense check, on monthly basis, then one ‘miss’ must affect you  a lot.
  • In case of PayPal, you can add your bank account (and PayPal supports a long list of supported Banks from every country), and without a delay, the money gets transferred in your account (just 2 days and a maximum of one week that you can certainly depend on).
  • $50 payout limit may seem a long way to go, but think about it. HubPages is one of the top article revenue sites in the world, visibility is very nice, articles get indexed by top search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.), and if you think you have the ‘thing’ to compose quality hubs (you know you need it anyway), then $50 is nothing in comparison to $100, which is the payout limit for Adsense Check.
  • Leveraging our current traffic was the best part (after payment via PayPal) because the new ad program will only make our work easier. You see, we will not have to work extra hard to earn additional revenue. We can work at our own pace, like we used to, so we will not feel a thing. Visitors, who click on Adsense Ads, will click on these new ads at the same rate. We’ll also generate revenue at the same rate (not particularly, but as an average), however, we’ll reach the payout quicker than Adsense, so it’s a win-win situation.
  • I think that June is a lot far than where we stand right now. But time will not cease and June could be said ‘just around the corner’. So, till then we need to publish articles and generate quality visitors, so that, once we join the new ad program by HubPages, we’ll be able to leverage the massive traffic at its best.

I did the same Kidgas! I turned off the ad program for 2 months and learned that it was a mistake. Ad program is now improving my online income and the experience is getting amazing day by day. :)

PS - Thanks for dropping by.

I like the new program and am making more than I would be with AdSense. I did turn it off in August to see if that would help my AdSense earnings, but it really didn't. AdSense isn't making all that much so I am sticking with the Ad Program.

Good for you Pedrog, in that case, New Ad Program is slowing ur Adsense Revenue.

I've also been invited to 2nd round and already have couple of dollars in my Ad Revenue stats, but my adsense have dropped significantly to 60% and that's just a lot.

I am not sure, if I will be able to keep going with Ad Program. But I'll let it run for April and see if the potential is higher than Adsense, which I doubt highly.

Thanks for ur feedback. Following u to keep myself updated with ur views.

Well, i got the invitation in this second round of invites, already got a couple of dollar in the account, my Adsense CTR went down with this new ad layout, let's see in the long run if it makes me more money.

About the payments, i receive payment from Adsense through bank wire, so no problem there, and i transfer money to my bank account from Paypal or i use the money to pay things i buy online, very comfortable for me.

If u are talking about this hub Baileybear, then those two ads are from Adsense and don't worry about getting invited. Even I am still not invited and I am actively participating in providing content (and quality at that). But I don't care abt that a lot at this moment.

My focus is to gain great traffic by the time I apply for this new ad program, so that I do not have to wait for a long time to reach that $50 payout limit.

Oh yeah Rajan. There are complications between RBI (reserve bank of india, not just few banks, but the big daddy of Indian Finance Sector) and Paypal. Starting from 1st March 2011 (already applicable) we'll not be able to accumulate funds in our paypal account. We'll have to withdraw funds in our local indian bank that we have added with paypal. I don't know what would happen to the money that is left in Paypal account, but I am not willing to risk it for the moment.

Apart from this, there are absolutely no complications. RBI has only become restrict with Paypal and it was foreseen and couldn't be stopped. RBI even blocked Paypal for few months (Paypal says, they blocked India).

So, I don't think that we would have to worry abt that for the moment, right now Adsense is the champ. However, I must say that I haven't received my paypal check for January till now and I am seriously getting a little worried over the matter. Anyway, its not a matter to discuss on Hubpages comment section.

So, if you have any more questions regarding Hubpages Ad Program, feel free to give me a buzz and I will try to help you out with my best efforts. Ciao.
