Intel Decacore Processor Release Date

Rumor mill rolls and keeps rolling others!

Fabrication: 24nm over 32 nm.

Things are going to get even tougher for AMD, which is the only other competitor in processor market around the globe. Obviously, I am talking about processors related to computers only. So… right now latest processor series via Intel i.e. Core I series Second Generation 2011, are currently ruling the marketing and hearts of performance users.

Intel Ivybridge processor will succeed Sandy Bridge and you know that it is the basis of today’s high-performance computers, whether laptops or desktops. It is based on only 22nm fabrication node and may be called as a sister version of Sandy Bridge, which is based on 32nm fabrication node.

However, I am talking about a next-generation processor based on 18 nm fabrication node, which literally breaks Moore’s law that is related to ‘limitation of excessive die shrinking processes’. Ivybridge would be bringing PCI Express 3.0 and it will be the leading graphics card port for several upcoming years. This so-called decacore processor will improve the graphical performance of that particular card by optimizing each node and calibrating the data-transmission (graphical units precisely) for each connection.

Performance: With great processor, comes great performance, isn’t that right?

Decacore processors may as well be a future technology in comparison to current processor technology, keeping in mind that by 2012, we would be running Quad core processors in our Smartphones and Tablets. So it would only be a matter of time before we move our most of work related to computers to our new gadgets. So… for those users, who would want a near supercomputer kind of thing in their living room, release of a decacore processor doesn’t feel too needy.
