Uploading Files via Email

SugarSync is becoming a great cloud storage service. It offers 5GB of free storage and up to 500 GB of disk space for premium members.

You can upload files to SugarSync by simply keeping your frequently updated folders in sync or if you want to upload and sync some particular files then you can upload them via email. The process is really simple and hassle-free.

So, here we go with uploading files on SugarSync via Email:

  • Login to your SugarSync account – Login.
  • Head for ‘Account’ tab in the rightmost corner of the screen. Click on it and you’ll be taken to your Account details, like, plandetails, notifications and settings.
  • Scroll down to Settings option.
  • Just below ‘Getting Started Tab’, you’ll see ‘Upload by Email’. Now, if you have not already enabled the option, then you need to click ‘Enable’.
  • Next screen will lead you to reset your email address (for your SugarSync account) and you’ll be able to send the details to your email address like gmail, yahoo, bing, etc (from which you created SugarSync’s account).

  • The default format is ‘your user name.xxxxxxxx@xxx.sugarsync.com. Unfortunately, you cannot change the format because there are numerous users accessing their own email address regarding a SugarSync account.
  • In any case, if you don’t like the numbers, you can always ‘reset’ it till you find what you like. It won’t make the email address pretty though.
  • When you are done, all you need to do is ‘send the above information to me now’, to your email address from which you created an account with SugarSync.
  • Once you have all the details, just sign in to your email account (where all the details went) and save the contact info so that you don’t have to open your SugarSync account just to know your SugarSync’s email address.
  • Now you’ll be able to use this email address to upload files via portable devices that do not support SugarSync or are just able to send an email or anything like that.

That’s it, I hope the process wasn’t too tedious and I am sure you’ll do just fine. It takes only a couple of minutes to enable ‘upload via email address’ and you’ll be able to send files to your SugarSync account in no time.

For any further questions, leave your comments and I’ll be glad to help you out. Ciao.

A Good review – there are a few recent changes though:

You get 5GB of space with the FREE version, but now there is no restriction to the number of computers you can sync/backup (from 2).

It gives you the ability to upload and sync any folder on your computer.

It is the only service that offers such a broad device and OS support with apps for iPhone/iPad, Android, Blackberry, Symbian and WinMo.

On the Free version the upload/download is faster than when reviewed :)

Also if you use the below referral code you get 500MB extra on top of the Free 5GB or 10GB extra on any of the paid-for services!

Hope it helps someone.
