- Click on the green arrow (pointing towards right) that says start.
- When you select it for the first time, it will prompt you to select an installation media and you will have load your ISO image of Windows 8 that we download in the first part.
- However, if you cancelled the screen when you were in some kind of hurry then don’t worry. Here is another way to get things done.
- Select Start and in the new window select Devices.
- Selecting Devices will pop-up a sub-menu with options like this:

- Don’t worry if you didn’t burn the ISO image on a DVD because you don’t have to.
- Selecting Choose a virtual CD/DVD disk file will open up the procedure to open your ISO image. Pay close attention to the file type and you will know that it accepts ISO, DMG, CDR and All files (all formats). So, browse your way to the folder where you saved the Windows 8 developer setup.
- Now on click on Machine (left corner) and select Reset. VM Virtual Machine will prompt you to confirm the reset and you should select OK. This will restart the machine and since, you have already select which media to boot from, after reset, the machine will boot from the Windows 8 Developer ISO setup file.
- Your work is pretty much done because there is nothing else to do and nothing so complicated that you won’t be able to handle on your own.
- Just follow the setup procedure and it is like installing Windows 7, so you will no problem in dealing with it.
- Right + Ctrl will capture and release your mouse and keyboard in virtual machine. The setup options are same as before (like Windows 7), for example choosing country, language, custom install (rather than Upgrading), and creating a hard-disk from Windows 8 options and relaxing while it completes the process all the way to creating your profile.
- You will be amazed by the final output of Windows 8 installation because it will completely take you by surprise.
