Why should you upgrade Graphics Card? - A Guide to Successfully Upgrade Graphics Card

By

Upgrading your system can be tricky! Choose wisely!!

Many users think that if they have a graphics card then they will be able to play any game they like, so they assemble their new PC with the most basic and cheap configurations available in the market and choose to attach a nice graphics card later.

However, this becomes their biggest mistake and if you do the same or are planning to do the same then I am afraid to say but you will be disappointed with your configurations at that point where you buy a nice and expensive graphics card and still; your games stutter and the frame rates lag a lot.

Save yourself from these situations and read further to understand what is wrong with this method:

1. As the name suggests a graphics card is meant to handle visual elements for your desktop. Be that a game or some application or a theme, you would not be able to enjoy a great visual experience if you do not have a compatible graphics card.

2. However, If you assemble a rig that doesn’t has a powerful CPU, enough RAM size, appropriate cooling system, compatible motherboard (with other components) and enough HD size, then you would not be able get the most out of your games with just a powerful graphics card.

3. Games are not just a bunch of files that deliver only visual interface for you to interact with a virtual world. There are calculations, physics, movements, expressions, changing weather, lights, smoke, and whatever that can make you feel that you are in a real world rather than in a virtual one.

4. As you can see, none of these are ‘just’ the part that only graphics card handles. Only a processor is meant to do calculations and a Physics card is meant to perform physics calculations. Then there comes speed of compiling everything from source code to your monitor, a nice set of RAM with enough size and clock speed handles that feature and also the loading time within your games.

5. Calculations are always exhausting and are certainly enough to put your system at heavy load. Without a proper cooling system, you would be able to fry a couple of eggs on your system. It is not joke, sometimes gaming systems become so hot that ICs (integrated circuits) catch a tiny spark that is enough to shut them down.

I hope that by now you have a fairer idea of what might happen if you do not assemble a system compatible with the games you want to play. This is why, it is often said that one must buy a gaming system from those who know how to build it!

How often do you Upgrade your System?

  • As soon as the new hardware comes.
  • Wait for competition to lower the prices.
  • When my preferrerd brand launches it.
  • I don't bother about it.
