Best HD DTH Service in India – Dish Tru-HD

I must confess before I begin that getting Dish Tru-HD wasn’t my first choice as a DTH service provider. In fact, I did not even opt for one. My old TV was blown off due to a sudden power surge in our colony and the only thing that came to my mind was its ‘time to get a new TV!’ My old TV was a Videocon CRT 21-inch and was pretty heavy. Now that it was destroyed completely and I had no intentions of getting it repaired I went to look for an LCD TV.

I went in many showrooms and looked in Sony Bravia, Samsung, Videocon, LG, etc. shops to get the drift about which LCD would be nice. The problem was, they had LED beside their LCD TVs and once you get a look at an extremely slim LED with great contrast ratio and super fine picture quality, you begin to hate the fact that you did not opt for one of them sooner.

I bought Samsung LED 32-inch series 4 which was according to my budget and had fair amount of connectivity options. I came to know after a while that the TV comes with a Dish Tru-HD DTH box and I would not have to pay Rs.2000/- for the box, only Rs750/- for the installation (which were additional charges after the price of the box).

They connected the box and I was amazed to see the quality that I was given by Dish Tru-HD. I saw Tata Sky on one of my friends TV and did not like it a bit. I have to say that I have not seen Reliance Big TV and Videocon D2H with my own eyes, but my friends do complain about their quality after coming to my house and watching sports channel here.

Though, only 35 channels are in 1080p (full HD), I have to say that for a person, who spent most of his life with a normal disc connection, the signals received by Dish Tru-HD box for normal channels (perhaps 720p) were quite good.

I especially liked Star Plus, Sony, Zee TV, etc. channels, which looked just like HD channels. May be it was because that I had only 32-inch television. But it was enough for me. Channels with their HD broadcast signals were looking exquisite, especially Travel XP HD, Discovery HD, Animal Planet HD, etc.

I pay Rs.500/- for all channels on monthly basis and it is just too boring to select your channels particularly and pay for them. That is why; I selected the mega pack and enjoyed all channels (even those that I have still not seen).

The procedure is very simple and can be done via internet too. All you have to do is visit Dishtv.in and enter your details and you will be taken to the payment page. After that you can pay via Net banking or Credit Card.

So… I think that Dish Tru-HD is delivering what it is promising. Also, what matters is the quality of signals and they are pretty great. However, I do want to point out that on heavy rain or disturbed weather, the signals lose their strength and that is quite understandable because we are getting the signals via satellite after all. So, other than that, everything is just fine.
