iPad 2 is now live and available for everyone, not in the sense buying, but in the sense of learning to know what they can do with it. Rumors and leaked information about iPad 2 apart, let us discuss some official and available-to-everyone information that everyone (who does not know) wants to know. How about we start this discussion in a list format? That would be a perfect way to go with a long article.
Are other tablets and pads worth a try after iPad 2?

After the amazing success of iPad 2 that literally took several competitors out, developers are seeking to maintain the status of Apple’s iPad by introducing many goodies in iPad 3. - Apple iPhone 5 Review Specifications, Release Date and Real Name
Apple iPhone 5 is becoming more and more the most wanted Smartphone of the year 2011. - Apple iPad 2 Specification Leaked - Update: It's Official Now
Apple has announced the most awaited pad of the year 2011. Check it out. - Apple iPad 2 Release Date - Update: 2nd March 2011
Apple iPad 2 has been released by Steve Jobs on 2nd March 2011.
- iPad 2 is blazing fast and horribly quicker than iPad, and without a doubt, it was supposed to be like that. It sports A5 Dual Core processor that powers it up for such blazing speeds. I don’t have benchmark to prove it but you can find plenty of videos on the Internet (please don’t go right away, there is plenty to discuss) to catch the drift.
- The screen-size is still intact, 9.7-inch with same old resolution. The technology behind the screen is still not disclosed but many developers think that it’s the same IPS technology, which brought iPhone 4’s retina display.
- iPad 2 does not have Thunderbolt and I am saying that the existence was not too superficial or too much imaginative, but I think that Apple is trying to experiment this port with their MacBook Pro first and they might retouch iPad 2’s hardware later this year or bring out a whole new iPad 3.
- iPad 2 sports 4G connectivity solution and I am still not sure about the carrier but Sprint may be the one to take the lead. The pad is still in its introductory phase and cannot be disturbed by any operator until Steve Jobs finishes bragging about how they topped all other pads and tablets, with their iPad, last year! Didn’t you hear about it? It was submitted live from Apple Event 2011, that Steve Jobs included the misquoted words of Samsung’s Lee Young-Hee (about ‘Smooth’ with ‘Small’) in the slideshow that was used to deliver mind boggling facts about how iPad turned the tables down for their competitors in 2010. It was a teaser before Steve Jobs laid out the specifications of iPad 2.
- The pad does not have a higher resolution (as I said above) and my predictions came true again (though, it was important to keep the resolution intact) and I was a little disappointed. The pad does not have 1280X800 like Xoom, which looks awesome and beautiful at that resolution. It will give you a resolution of 1024X768, like a typical CRT 17-inch display in good old times.
- What I am assuming at this point is that, Apple is planning something even bigger. With the highly successful launch of OS Lion for Mac (for developers), Apple might be planning to launch a dramatically different version of iOS. It’s not too hard for Apple to do something like that. If they can fit that much power and speed in a 1.3 pound pad, then they can do anything. After all, they are launching iPhone 5 in July 2011 and they must have something amazing to it, so why not a whole new OS!
- iOS 5.0 may be on its way and it might give a new feeling or something very different (and clearly I am having trouble to find the right words) that we would cherish for the rest of the year at least. Currently, we still have iOS 4.3 installed in the factory-shipped iPad 2.
- Memory is not yet disclosed but as the reviews say and what I have seen in plenty videos (operating iPad 2), it might have 1GB of RAM or at the very least and most probable, 768 MB.
- Camera is like other tablets and pads, 5 mega-pixels, which can present you 720p video and image capabilities. Sorry friends, no 1080p at this time, stick with your Sony for now.
- The performance of battery is still intact and considering the dual-core processor inside the pad, I really impressed that iPad 2 is able to deliver 10 hours of unstoppable fun.
- Other features include Gyroscope, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, 3-axis accelerometer, etc.
- So, what’s left now? I think, an upgraded iOS, some accessories that can use Thunderbolt, like a Thunderbolt port adapter for iPad 2, quality of FaceTime and Video Conferencing on iPad 2, how games run in comparison to Nvidia Tegra 2 (on other tablets), and without a doubt, will it provide 3D content or not?
- Reviews are still not clear because those big shots out there are having a hard time playing with this new gadget because folks are swarming on the place. We’ll have to wait a while for some more reviews, pictures and videos.
- The availability is indicated by the ads and according to them; iPad 2 will be available by 3rd week of March for preorder and is supposedly going to be priced at $499.
I shall update this article when I get more words to add. Till then, if you get your hands on iPad 2, don’t forget to comment and provide us some very valuable information on the matter, everyone shall be truly grateful and without a doubt, drool over them.
